Can we have a Microscopic Description of de Sitter Dynamics?

Abstract: Understanding quantum gravity in a closed universe is a long standing problem, where it is challenging even to discuss what observables are meaningful, particularly when thinking about dynamics. Indeed, most discussions in de Sitter are in the framework of dS/CFT where this is the case. We will discuss a way to think about this problem by identifying a quantum system in de Sitter, and offer a proposal for how to realize it microscopically. We will check this proposal with a microscopic realization using double-scaled SYK.
